Your answer should draw on examples from your profession or sector as well as the
diverse experience within your group. The topics will be allocated randomly to the
groups by the tutor to ensure all topics are covered.

Please adopt an academic writing style and observe the Harvard referencing system
in the report itself and in the list of references at the end of your essay. You may use
the references given in the module teaching. Also, you are expected to source at
least 3/4 relevant journal or professional articles yourself. Authoritative websites can
also be used. Guidelines for the structure are outlined below.

Introduction

Try to put your topic in context by briefly discussing the topic area, the challenges
that area faces in your sector and the focus of your discussion of diversity.

Main Body

You are expected to demonstrate a critical understanding of the theories and
concepts which underpin the following:-
 Perspectives on the nature and context of diversity and the specific divelens(es) of your report
 Effective performance in the competence under discussion (e.g. teamwork)
 The influence/impact of diversity considerations on this competence

Diversity in Practice

In this section you are expected to apply the concepts discussed above to
demonstrate your understanding of the application of diversity within a workplace
setting. This would include examples of specific challenges, issues or scenarios which
illustrate the relevance and importance of developing diversity consciousness for the
sector or profession in which you hope to work.
